The Los Angeles Dodgers have added to their minor league staff. In line with Dodger insider Fabian Ardaya, L.A. has signed catcher Patrick Mazeika to a minor league deal.
Mazeika has spent seven years within the minors and two years within the majors with the New York Mets.
In his time with the Mets, Mazeika slashed .190/.236/.279 with a .515 OPS in 61 video games and 147 ABs. He has hit two house runs and 12 RBIs and picked up ten runs and 28 hits.
Nonetheless, the 29-year-old has spent most of his time within the minor leagues in double-A and triple-A. In 531 video games, the catcher has slashed .276/.369/.422 with a .791 OPS and has recorded 51 house runs and 297 RBIs. Mazeika has 515 hits within the minors in 1865 ABs.
The Massachusetts native was chosen within the eighth spherical of the 2015 MLB draft by the New York Mets with the 239 total choose.
Patrick solely appeared in 24 video games with the Mets in 2022, posting a -0.3 WAR and 45 OPS+ (common MLB OPS+ is 100).
It’s been a difficult journey for the left-handed batter; hopefully, he can discover his groove below the Dodger group.
